food of Reilly

dad here, first time poster so cut me some slack,
this is by request of Grandpa Williams, he wanted to know what kind of food Reilly eats, so here it goes:

this is a gluten free and casein free diet, look that up (in google), there are some really great sites dedicated entirely to gluten and casein free recipes research etc.
really pretty simple, but ironic how some people pay attention to food labelling for salt content, or surgar content and now we look for things which read: wheat, gluten, barley, artificial colour, caramel colouring, milk solids, milk, cheese, cheese solids, whey, milk protein, "this product may contain traces of wheat or milk" etc..

today for instance, he had rice porridge (with orchard fruits, sultanas, peaches, etc) (and one spoonful of white surgar), and a bit of a red delicious apple microwaved and partially cooked, sliced cubed.

then, for lunch, a large banana ('nana') sliced, with grapes, cherry tomatos, necterines
a bottle (300ml) of rice milk (not soy, but rice. Some soy milk has milk solids! so do some rice milk as well)
then nap time 'til about 14:30ish and another large nana.
went to pool,
then tea, ah actually I was out in the garden, I don't know what he had for tea, oh wait, (wife asleep, I'm digging through garbage) looks like
a jar (170g) of heinz baby food called 'chicken chasseur' from the globetotters line. this one is from france (if the name didn't give it away) ingrediants: vegies (54%), tomatoes (32%), carrots (8%), potatos, onion, mushrooms (two %), rice, maize starch, parsley, tarragon.
Sometimes he has one called lemon chicken. out of pure convenience (read: lazy) we have these toddler food jars, which we can pop in a bag and take whereever we need and twist the lid and we have food for him since you would not believe the number of things with gluten and or casein. for instance, chips, (freedom fries), some brands actually have a batter which is put on oven fries,
so reading the label is well worth it.
read yours next time: should say something like : ingrediants: potatos;
however, it often reads: potatos, flour (wheat), monosaturated fat, salt...
anyway,
another variation on breakfast is pikelets, small pancakes about diameter of an orange,
made from eggs and buckwheat (and water), I actualy dont mind this one, it is not bad tasting
and yeilds light, fluffy pancakes great with olive oil margerine and maple syrup. Hmm...not bad.

sometimes we make small muffins from his gluten free bread mix. none of these recipes require yeast or a raising agent. I don't know if that is because they already contain one or what the actual reason is, but we enjoy them the same. the gluten free bread has a consistancy of angel food cake but not as sweet, made from potato starch and/or tapioca or one of those palm trees.

summed up:
froot (fruit),
vegies,
meats (sausages made from rice flour, not wheat),

that's about it, we shove sultanas in his face nearly
3 times (or more) a day or any other fruit we can get,

one curios thing, he will eat willingly and enthusiastically just about
ANYTHING put in front of him, except corn. I've been doing some
hard corps disquising to hide the corn..but he often sees it and refuses
it outright...oh well....
must close, sand man is beating me to death.
go jayhawks.

I'm absolutely positive Wendy will want this edited later, but i'm publishing it now
to get it done and over with.
